Ministries

The York Baptist Association seeks to challenge and equip it member churches to develop ministries that meets needs within their respective communities. We also develop and operate cooperative ministries where multiple churches partner to meet the needs of the larger community.  We have several ministries that have been launched over time who are now their own non-profit organizations. We partner with these ministries on a regular basis.

Christian Women’s Job Corps

This ministry works with women who want to break the bonds of poverty and it seeks to equip these women for life and employment.  Women mentor women in issues of life and faith. learn more..

New Start Men’s Ministry

This ministry works with men who are struggling with issues of poverty.  It seeks to prepare men for life and employment through Bible Study and mentoring.

York County Christian Community Development Corporation

This ministry is a subsidiary organization that works to address issues of poverty, homelessness, literacy and employment in York County SC.  YCCDC partners with New Start Men’s Ministry to operate a home for men who are either homeless or coming out of prison.  The goal is to get the men integrated into society as productive responsible men as soon as possible.

Baptist Builders/World Changers

These ministries seek to mobilize volunteers into the community to repair homes for homeowners who cannot afford the work otherwise.  Baptist Builders are volunteers from local YBA churches who work year round as needed on local homes.  World Changers is a national ministry of the North American Mission Board and they recruit volunteers from around the nation who come to town to participate in a week long mission camp.  These World Changers will work on the homes of local residents while they are in our area.

Disaster Relief

This ministry deploys local trained men and women who respond to natural disasters across our nation and in some cases across the world.  This ministry partners with our state and national disaster relief ministries to train and deploy these volunteers.  They respond in areas of debris removal, mud out, crises counseling, feeding teams, shower trailers operation and child care.

Special Event Ministries

This ministry trains and deploys volunteers from our churches minister at special events that happen in our area.  For the last 12 years we have partnered with the National Softball Association and The Rock Hill Parks and Recreation Department to provide ministry to the Girls Fast Pitch Softball Tournaments that they have brought to York County.  There have been as many as 600 teams in one of these international tournaments.  Teams have also been trained to minister at fairs, festivals and block parties.
