Volunteer Opportunities for Midtown Ministries
Midtown Ministries is an inner city ministry and new church plant operating in Genesis Place Apartments on Rauch Street in downtown Rock Hill, S.C. We have very limited space, only 850 sq ft., in which to do ministry. The people to whom we minister are among the poorest in the county and have many needs that are difficult for most of us to understand. We presently have the following activities:
· Sunday 9:45 AM – Adult & Children’s Sunday School (No Youth)
· Sunday 10:30 AM - Breakfast and Worship (Finish about 12:30)
· Tuesday 6:30 PM – Children’s Bible Study (1st Grade – 6th)
· Wednesday 6:30 PM – Youth Bible Study (7th Grade – 12th)
· Thursday 6:30 PM – Adult Bible Study
· Saturday 10:00 AM – Prayer Walk in the neighborhood
At this time, we are looking for volunteers to…
· Help with the children’s ministry on Tuesday evening.
· Be a 3 month missionary, helping us build and organize our Sunday Schools and leadership.
· Prayer walk with us on Saturday Morning.
· We have also acquired a school bus, which we are going to convert into a church on wheels and which will be available for all YBA churches to use in Multihousing Ministry. We will need volunteers to…
o Take out the seats (They will probably have to be cut out with a torch)
o Install a diesel generator and an electrical box with outlets.
o Install carpeting
o Install drop down tables along the walls
o Install drop down marker boards from the ceiling
o Install a carry/storage rack for folding chairs
o Do routine maintenance and minor repairs to the engine, brakes etc.
o Donate some funds for the project
